Float valves
Drillmax produces superior float valves with longer service life. All of their cages are made from hi-tech alloys coated with Xylan - a highly successful fluoropolymer coating which dramatically reduces corrosion. Repair Kits are available to extend the lifetime of the float valve.
All Drillmax parts are completely interchangeable with Baker and Crestex. The range has ported and non-ported valves, including models for high-temperature conditions.
Drillmax F Plunger type valve
The Model F is a plunger type float valve that allows constant fluid flow while drilling, yet provides an instant shut-off if the flow is stopped or reversed. The piston seal stops backflow when breaking connections and keeps cuttings out of the drill string to help prevent clogged bits. In normal drilling operations the Model F offers economy and durability.
Drillmax FA Ported Plunger type valve
The Model FA offers all the standard features of the Model F with the added benefit of a ported plunger, a special port which allows fluid a path through the center of the valve. This feature allows for an automatic partial filling of the drill pipe during run in, and facilitates differential pressure reading at the surface.
Drillmax G Full Flow Flapper type valve
The G flapper type valve features an investment cast flapper that is quick opening, allowing for full flow through the valve. The G type is designed for highly abrasive drilling fluids.
Drillmax GA Full Flow Ported Flapper type with carbide orifice
Identical to the G flapper type valve except for a carbide orifice that makes the flapper ported. The GA flapper allows for differential pressure readings at the surface.
Drillmax GC Full Flow Flapper with automatic fill
Identical to the G flapper type valve but adds an automatic fill feature when going in the hole. The GC type helps prevent pressure surges that could cause formation breakdown.
Drillmax GCA Full Flow Ported Flapper with auto fill and carbide orifice
Identical to the GA flapper type valve, GCA allows for differential pressure readings at the surface, and adds an automatic fill feature when going in the hole. This prevents pressure surges that could cause formation breakdown.
Drillmax drill pipe float valves are easy to install
Simply lubricate the side seal rubbers with Alco-EP 73 Plus and slide the float valve into the float bore of any tool that’s been prepared for a float valve.
